Guess you should have heard about the blackout yesterday. I was playing com and then *poof!* all the electricity went off. Everyone thought it was just my house but when looked out, the whole place was black. BLACK. I heard a woman scream loud. *eek*
We searched for candles and found a big one and a box of small ones. Overturned a ceramic bowl and stuck the big candle there. then got those ornament candles etc...
Grabbed a radio and discovered at least 1/3 of singapore (or is it 2/3??) is black. No traffic lights, no street lamps... There was major congestion at Compass point!
Cut apples. yeah, cut apples~
IT WAS SO HOT!!!
Electricity came 2hrs later. Every time a compound is lighted, there were cheers. Our six blocks were one of the lasts.
So yeah... this is it. was so letargic this morning. So tired. slept at 12am and woke up at 7am. duh.

Yeah... i was in two lift breakdowns - in a row!!
Fri went to adult cell and experienced an almost fright. The lift was the old kind where you dont have windows and it was going mad. While it went mad, I went mad too. Hysterical was more like it. Anyway, I got to the 15 floor and when I exited it said "out of order". phew.
Sat I was cycling back from Compass point with mom. I wasnt fast enough to turn into the lift and it closed without my control. Wheel hit the door and lift breakdown (offical) - door was really sensitive an eletronic voice ranted on and on in 4 languages that it was a breakdown and do not force the door open instead press the bell. My mom had a phone but er... Starhub reception was really bad. So calling was out. We pressed the deafening bell and waited. A repair man was just passing by and saved us.

FRI NIGHT: TRACTING IN MY OWN ESTATE [SENGKANG]

My dad, sis and me cycled to the nearby Compass Point that was the meeting place and it was nearby. We were supposed to meet our adult cell group at 7.30pm.
Another friend supposed to go but cant make it. (She's the free thinker friend)
So we grabbed a burger and a drink and the leader divided the allocated places for us to tract and passed us the tracts. (We had 2 big packs = 1000 tracts for 8 blks) We were grouped with a Mr Seet and set off.
Mr Seet was riding my pa's bike, my sis's hers and my dad rode my bike. Me? I sat behind my dad. I was reluctant as I had never let anyone "longpang" me or I "longpang" anyone. Not that I dont trust that person; is I dont trust MYSELF.
Anyway, my dad is a good one. He said that in the past, he rode a motorcycle and my mom sat at the back. Wow... so romantic~
I felt a little embarrased and nervous. I was the "compass" as I know my way quite well (I did exploring on my bike last time)
We reached the destination and tracted 8 blocks in 2 hours.
I think I tracted Joseph Patrick's block. I dunno...
Then Mr seet rode my pa's bike back to Compass Point. (He has to take the MRT from there to Serangoon) I was quite thankful for having to be a passenger. After all the tracting, my legs were really sore and I dont need to move a single inch. =)
We returned home, park our bikes and went to Tampines in car to fetch my mom. (she was at church - the pastor chu thing) We ate there (very hungry) and at the coffee shop we met Auntie Agnes and Annabella (From speedlight)
We fellowshipped until 12am. (no kidding)

SAT: ADULT CELL GATHERING FOR ALL WITH CHILDREN AT THE BAYSHORE

My cgl has an investment house at the bayshore. (nice condo)
The swimming pool is cool. It's all connected. (A main pool - Jaccuzi - children's pool - fountian cum cooling down/warming up pool) The main pool was in the centre for lap swimming and branches out.
I went with my family and my free thinker friend. we swam for 4.5 hours!!! (broke record)Sometimes my cgl will feed us with her really nice hotdogs (really). Haha. Sometimes they joke and we had to do a dance or something before getting a hotdog/cracker. =)
The adults were all gathered in a corner near the pool. There was FOOD, talking, chatting and aiyah. Stuff that will be created when adults gather.
We had a break in between to eat dinner [delicious]
At about 7pm, when the sun set, it was dark. [of course] we still relaxed in water but near to the adults. I love that section of the pool! underwater, it was really nice. the colours all reflected by the underwater lights, it was simply wonderful. My fren and my sis was really freaked out, i dunno why. I didnt freak. Maybe I trusted God more? Someone gave us 2 long balloons and we were thankful for it. I had to demo to my sis how to float properly on it. She doesnt know how to swim. Both popped at the end and I tied them around my feet. [lame]
So, we went down at 3.30pm and got up at 8.00pm (Approx) Then we took a shower. Then I discovered that I came here before when I was young. The bridges looked espcially familar.
I tell you, the lifts have music and air-con and even the bathroom has air-con! [i think]
We went to the billard room where the guys were [they disappeared when we got out]
We went to the playground for swings and then returned to the poolside and there, we went our own seperated ways. we were really bombed. I reached home at about 10.30pm and dunno why, I cant sleep!

SUN: SPEEDLIGHT!!

Took bus to church with mom
Went to cell (low attendance that day)
Then to speedlight. Bro Sam preached about the potter's hand. [about ministry] Sat with Alvin Tay's cell (Got a few frens there) - second row. Isabel kept wheezing.
I went to the interchange for lunch with Joanne. [Chan- ushering team 2] We ate and she went home. I went back to church and went to the photocopying shop to do some photostating. My folks want me to go to the 7pm service. [chinese] dumb. I didnt want to but was forced because my mom said that the Pastor Chu want to pray for children. Duh. To pass the time, I went to the choir rehearsal. it was nice. I know the songs next week, what they are going to wear, etc. =)
The service was boring. I went home in a total bad mood. [What will you feel if you are forced to go to a CHINESE service??]

Oh well... the price for being the oldest: you're in charge of your siblings.
Sometimes it's good but if your sibling doesn't want to listen then duh.
Yeah, my mom went to church for the Peter Chu thing early in the morning and I'm in charge of breakfast and lunch. Mine and my sister's.
Breakfast isn't a prob; there's cake and bread and biscuits plus ovaltine. My sis could settle that herself.
Lunch is a big problem.
We were lazy to go out and I'm lazy to cook. We settled for scrambled eggs with chopped tomatoes and sliced luncheon meat popped in the oven. Plus a cup of rose syrup diluted with water. (Supposed to be Bandung but no evaporated milk)
It was delicious. I managed to get my sis to help.
But, as you can imagine, it's not filling. Right now my tummy is shouting and pounding, saying, "Feed me". oh no.
During cooking, a piece of HOT tomato dropped to my feet. OUCH.

YESTERDAY'S DINNER

Menu:
Campbell soup (Vegetarian Veg - one of my faves)
Hawallian pizza (Fave too)

Helpers: me, myself, I (pathetic)

Then when I sneaked two small pieces of potato into my mouth, my sis screamed at me. So much for cooking for her. I don't even get a word of thanks. We had a screaming match and finally I stormed into our room and slammed (not exactly) the door. I talked to a church friend but my mood didn't turn for the better but instead, THE WORST. (Because of something in the conversation) I got out of the room. I had a craving for sweet stuff (As always after dinner)
Then I called another church friend. Adeline! She's the best and cheered me up a little. =)

I seem to do alot of shouting and screaming these days. (Mainly because of my sis)

Now:
Developing sore throat (I can sense it)
A very painful ulcer on my lower lip. Ouch.

i decided to rewrite my camp experience and look at it from another angle.

Speedlight Camp 2004 - Where's my King?? [[edited 7th dec 2004]]

Manasseh totally rawks!!!!!
my goodness, i'm so thankful to be in this tribe. they made me feel so part of the tribe.. so part of spdlight.
and God blessed me with two super nice roommates... pris and isabel!
on the first day... i met nicholas and mandy. nicholas was so kind! the footed the taxi fare. lol. and we ate lunch with some ppl.. then my tribe shared a bus with two other tribes. zebulun and judea. argh. it was a great disaster. i dun wnt to eleborate. hah. we reached NUS raffles hall and then got camp briefing and blah. service was great.. bro sam preached. the pnw was superr..
then at night got this stock market game. oh manx... i did badly. haha... what royston was looking for in the 'winner' was... the spiritual diciplines behind the board and the fruits of the spirit in front. who cares about worldy possesions, they'll all be worthless one day.

then the 2nd day... devotion talked about 'saint or sinner'. and how we glorify God. then was pnw, and this video 'transfromation'. it's about revival in uganda, africa. that particular country is deep in satanic worship... deep in sin.. and christians were persecuted, not allowed to worship freely...the crime rate was high... and blah. BUT, God came cuz he was invited. and so the country was delivered. the people threw out all their satanic music cds and stuff that were not glorifying to God. they had a revival. after the video, Pacer eleborated abit more. like... out of the average 42 (if i din rmb wrongly) ppl who died, 38 ppl are non believers. only that mere 4 are christians. i was like...*pengz*
then we had this treasure hunt game. it was to find out where's our King. hah... we ran ard the whole campus and blah... manasseh got the 2nd! hehe... the 'prize' was to sabo pacer, weixiong and john. lol. and so... where's our King? it's in US... =)

at night.. the pnw was really solid. i love pnw during camp. it's like you can really cry to him. let evt out to him. it's totally a experience as if no one is watching. then joel talked about forgiveness. it really pounded my heart. my past thinking was.. 'if they dun forgive me, why shud i forgive them? after all, they were the ones starting this whole stupid thing.' but after the sermon, i responded to the altar call. i knew i urgently needed to let go. it was one of my mountains.. and i needed to get rid of it. after the altar call was pnw again! wheee... =D

the 3rd day.. devotion was great. pris and leck had us to write what was hindering us in our walk with God on this heart shape paper.. then we prayed and then we teared to hearts. it was an act like... to let go.
then we had pnw and watched another video. God chasers! this one really touched my heart.
the preacher was this guy called Tommy Tenney.

seems that we are always waiting on the Lord. doesn't it occur to you that the Lord has been waiting like... forever for us. and he refered our worship as 'refrigerator art' you know... scribbles made by children which, obviously arent perfect. God collects them. he collects our prayers.. our tears.. our worship. he isn't looking for perfection. and when angels are worshipping him... it's perfect praise and worship. but when he hears sth from below... from us, he says "wait a minute! i hear sth!" and he will desperately grab some vessels...gets down from he's throne and goes to that small place where ppl are worshipping him. he seeks true worshippers. it really doesnt matter whether the instrument is a plain guitar or even acapella. he'll come when you really worship him... our prayers doesnt haf to be perfect either. he doesn't mind imperfect prayers, cuz he loves us.

then was games. indoor ones, cuz it was raining. haha... the game was this game called 'seasons of life' each tribe had to eat 2 watermelons to win. we had one fork and one spoon. and we had to open the watermelons with that! b4 we eat, each tribe had to share a cup of stuff. stuff like pi pa gao... fresh pure lemonade... chilli sauce coffee and evt mixed tog. kin onn actually broke a melon and we had erh... 2.5 melons to finish. lol. but we still won anyways. budden it's not the pt of winning lah. it was so noisy lor! everyone shouting for their tribes. team spirit. heh..

night pnw was as solid as ever. then pacer preached about the joshua generation. he asked every1 who wnts to be like joshua to raise their hand. i guess i was like... 'dun wnt lah' fighting with my spirit... but in the end i raised my hand. and so we prayed. and somemore pnw. heh..

then was the finale night!!!!! hehe... all the performances were so funny. i was the 'cam girl' in our skit. and we won the best tribe performance!! wheee... heehee... =D

the last day.
picture taking...testimonials...i gave one. and come to think of it..i kinda 'regretted'. dun wnt to eleborate oso. we signed on our flag and tore in into two pieces cuz there wasnt time. one peice for LET and one for LEW. no one wanted to leave but.. ah well... we had to leave the place mah. it was like.. who's ready to board the bus then board lah. when we reached LET, every1 dumped their bags and headed for the vending machine. it was like great big mess lah. lol. dad fetched me home and blah. was so bombed!! slept like... alot of hours. hahaha... =))))
